What's in it for me?

 

This the first time a "hands on" creative event like this has been offered to the public in Australia. You can get up close and personal with high profile, award winning US songwriters/producers/performers. This workshop is designed to empower and educate you in the process of "hit" songwriting, performance, and production, plus offer insights into various aspects of the international music industry from the creative person's viewpoint, in a relaxed environment.

 


How much does the three day workshop cost?

 

$349 for all 3 days "advance sale" (including the "In-The Round" concert)

$299 for all 3 days "advance sale" with a Student or Pensioner discount (Proof of eligibility required at check-in)

$399 at the door -  $349 at the door Student/Pensioner

 

 

Can I attend for just one or to two days if I can't attend the whole event?

 

Yes. The cost is $149 for each individual day (s).

 

 

Can I attend the "In-The-Round" concert by itself?

 

Yes. The cost is $75 for the concert alone on Thursday evening, October 9th.

 

 

Can you tell me more about the "In-The-Round" concert ?

 

Originally started in Nashville, at places like the Bluebird Cafe', it was a chance for a bunch of songwriters and artists to informally get up on stage in an intimate setting, with just themselves and their guitars or portable keyboard on some stools. They would go down the line telling a story about one of their "hit" songs, the history and background on it. Or maybe just tell a few jokes, talk about life, or whatever hit them in that moment before breaking into the song. Hence, a “round.” Then once everyone in the group on stage had their turn to play a song in the first round, they would start another one.  Or two. Or three. Usually they would be accompanied by some of the others onstage as needed, who jumped in to help in the performance of it (often without any rehearsal, just knowing the song). Very natural, very free flowing, very personal. This is the same spirit we hope to capture in our own “In-The -Round" concert as the invited U.S guests are joined by local Oz artists for a few rounds of songs, storytelling, and musical magic.

  

 

Can you tell me a bit more about the "After Party" at the Hard Rock Cafe ?

 

It just what the title says. After the final participant’s concert at the Dream Centre marking the official end of the three day event, everything moves over to the Hard Rock Café for a final blowout , jam session, and chance to perform with the full PA and sound system provided. There will food and drinks are available for purchase, and plenty of the good times the Hard Rock is known for.

 


Where does this money go?


After production costs, all proceeds are going to benefit "Music Bridges"
an organization dedicated to uniting people and cultures around the world through music.
